Fall Festival
On Wednesday evening, October 25, Faith
Tabernacle youth gathered at the church for
the annual Fall Festival. The fellowship
overflowed with our kids eager to enjoy a
night of fun and games. At the check-in table
in the foyer, each one received a bag labeled
with their name to collect tickets and goodies
they would acquire throughout the evening
playing games, fishing for trinkets and candy
at the fish pond. They would use the tickets
to “shop at the store” and the “deli” and fill
their bags to take home.
Ken and Karen, Youth Leaders, really outdid
themselves planning, preparing and executing
all the activities, decorations, treats, food,
etc. The fellowship was decorated in the fall
theme inviting those who came to enjoy
themselves. Our thanks to Ken and Karen for
all their hard work in correlating all the
activities. Ken and Karen appreciate the help
they received from the adults who joined right
in the fun as well.
The evening began as the youth sat in a large
circle around the “campfire” as Karen told a
Bible story. Afterward, they played “Stomp on
your balloon” in age groups. Even Pastor
Jerry and other adults joined in the game
after the kids had “stomped” on each other’s
balloons.
From there, they went to the games set up all
around the walls of the hall collecting
tickets and goodies in their bags. After
games, they went to the “store” and the “deli”
to spend their tickets.
As you can imagine, the adults’ job just began
in the cleanup! The church appreciates all
those who helped in the various stations
during the festival and returned the next day
to finish cleaning up and putting everything
back in place.
Below are some pictures. You can click on
each one to enlarge. Sorry for the grainy and
darkness of some of them. Light was low in
the hall. Other pictures will be posted as
they come
in.
Christmas Program
The annual Christmas program under the
direction of Karen Jacobs was another
outstanding event. The kids were
terrific, and played to a standing-room-only
crowd. The artwork and props were very
realistic looking. After the program,
the fellowship hall was filled to overflowing
for the food and fellowship.
